Wood Burners & BoilersWood is a 'carbon neutral' fuel. This means it absorbs as much CO2 during growth as it releases when burnt. This is a natural cycle. There are three main types of wood fuel: LogsMost of us are aware of logs and in many older homes an open fire is still common. Logs can be cheap and collected very easily however logs can be wet, difficult to ignite, bulky and an open fire is inefficient form of using the heat. Also, when not in use an open fire place can cause draughts and result in substantial energy losses. Today, however there are sealed, very efficient log burners available and Offspring can advise what is best suited for your needs.
ChipsRegarded as a bulk fuel and used mainly for larger commercial properties shavings / chip is more expensive than log but cheaper than pellet form. Shavings / Chip can be used for both heat burners but more commonly boilers. A detailed assessment of building design and requirements will determine the size and type of equipment required. Offspring can provide the advice required to meet your needs. Pellets |
